Air Polishing Technology

A gentler polish

Silverlake Dental Group uses air polishing during hygiene visits. A controlled spray of air, warm water and a very fine powder lifts plaque, biofilm and surface stains from teeth, between teeth and around restorations.

Why it helps

Air polishing reaches areas a rubber cup can miss, removes coffee, tea and wine stains, and can be more comfortable for sensitive teeth. It is also useful around implants, braces and crowns.

What to expect

You will feel a light spray and the area is suctioned continuously. Most patients find it quick and refreshing. Let your hygienist know about any sensitivity so the settings can be adjusted.
