Silverlake Dental Group uses dental lasers for selected gum and soft-tissue procedures. A focused beam of light can reshape, remove or disinfect tissue with a high level of control.

Where lasers help

Lasers can be used for gum contouring, treating infected gum pockets, removing small areas of soft tissue and supporting healing. Because the laser seals small blood vessels as it works, there is often less bleeding and swelling.

What to expect

You and the team wear protective glasses during treatment. Many laser procedures need little or no numbing, and recovery is often quicker. Lasers do not replace every instrument, so the doctor will recommend them only where they benefit your care.
