Silverlake Dental Group uses air abrasion for selected small cavities and surface preparation. A fine, controlled stream of air and particles removes decay and stains while preserving healthy tooth structure.

Why it helps

There is no drill vibration or high-pitched sound, and many small fillings can be done without numbing. Air abrasion works best for early decay, sealant preparation and minor surface repairs.

What to expect

You will feel a light stream of air and the area is protected and suctioned as we work. Larger cavities and older fillings may still need traditional instruments; the doctor will explain the best option for your tooth.
