Ultrasonic Bone Surgery Technology

Precision for delicate procedures

Silverlake Dental Group uses ultrasonic (piezoelectric) surgical instruments for selected bone procedures. The tip vibrates at a frequency that cuts mineralized bone while sparing soft tissue such as gums, nerves and the sinus lining.

Where it helps

Ultrasonic surgery can be used for careful tooth removal, preparing implant sites, bone grafting and sinus procedures. Its precision helps protect nearby structures and can support more comfortable healing.

What to expect

The area is numbed and a cooling water spray is used throughout. Procedures may take a little longer than with traditional instruments, and many patients notice less swelling afterward. The doctor will recommend it when it benefits your treatment.
